Emily Holmes

Hi! I am a recent graduate of Acadia University, where I completed my BScH and received the Bronze Medal in Psychology. I completed my Honours Thesis examining the moderating nature of caregiver sensitivity on the relationships between attachment styles and loneliness, resilience, and a newfound concept of sense of self in adulthood. Working closely with another Honours student, we developed a non-self scale, whereby sense of self was measured as a sense of feeling seen by, and connected with, others. Working with Dr. MacInnis as a Research Assistant, I am supporting them and Muskan in developing a study examining the feasibility of a writing exercise for parents with early-onset cancer, further exploring my interest in attachment theories and caregiver-child relationships in adolescence.
